I don't remember when I met you
I'm sure I know who you are
I've seen your dark soul
running around the corner, waiting for your next prey
I see your face behind the eyes of the man I knew
or I'm about to know,
your anatomy expels all the signs of danger,
and yet I go towards your arms with naivety
In this instance, there's nothing else more than pray,
but wait! My wild animal rises from the ashes;
I can recognize your sharp nails,
Your fury takes the best of me while you kiss me
I've seen you before, father, grandfather,
friend, lover, enemy?
Is it you who took my dreams and put them in the closet behind keys?
Or is it me and my lack of trust to set myself free?
I dig, and I found the skeletons of my wild past
recognizing that I have lost, but I'm not lost yet,
deeply embedded from my culture to hide my beast,
they made me think no one would love a woman who dares to speak or even scream.
My sisters had fallen for your tricks and lies
and they have come to destroy you by surprise,
you thought I was the prey, and now I'm ready to fight
this wild nature has returned to survive
My sisters and I gather the blood of all the ones behind us as a shield
I'll hunt you with all my senses until you scream
I'll remove all the fears, and I'll prevail with an unshakable will
so next time I'll meet you, I'll hold the forbidden key
Based on the book: "Woman Who Run With the Wolves" by Clarissa Pinkola Estés
